I am going to share my travelling experiences, would also write about events, people etc. Feel free to share your opinion.
Its a common tendency or behavior of people that they would ask you, "Where are you basically from?"
And I often came across this question when I was in Mumbai. I used to reply I am from Assam. And as soon as they get this answer they would ask me more questions. They are curious to know about Assam. I was shocked when few of them asked me, " Assam, Assam, uh.. is it in Guwahati?" Some of them related Assam with Orrisa, then I had to explain the facts. Totally shocking when found well qualified people asked me all these. They might not be aware of the geographical location of this place or they might never been to this place. Often people did not know anything about Assam, neither the geography, nor history or anything.
However, there was one thing common which every body knew. If you are reading this post then you can also guess.
Yeah, its "Assam Tea." Well friends, the state of Assam is the worlds largest tea growing region. I here don't want to explain the factors why is it so or don't want to get into the technicalities however just want to tell you that it happens because of certain qualities in soil and appropriate weather conditions.
I grew up seeing all these beautiful tea gardens. These are so very beautiful, I can't explain in words. If you ever happen to go North East India please go to upper Assam and after seeing them you would not believe in your eyes... get lost in the breath taking beauty of Tea Gardens. But please do not expect much hospitality.
Well guys this is about a bit of introduction. I will write more about this tea gardens, the workers out here their culture. And many more amazing facts of Assam.
